The history of our ship began in the period between the two world wars. Based on the plans of the Gerhard Kratzenberg engineering office, it was built in 1936 at the Ruthof shipyard in Mainz-Kastel. It was probably named "Olympia" in honour of the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.
Initially, it sailed for the Schrepfer shipping company in Ginsheim-Gustavsburg. Its owner, August Schrepfer Sr., stationed the ship in Mainz-Ginsheim.
It is a well-known fact that at the end of the Second World War, when the Allied troops reached the Rhine and the Main regions, the retreating German army (Wehrmacht) ordered the destruction of riverboats in order to block the way for the Allied troops with the wrecks. We have no clear evidence that the Olympia was also sunk, but it is certain that the ship underwent major renovations after the war.
In the 1950s, during the German economic miracle (Wirtschaftswunder), in addition to freight transport, river tourism and leisure activities also began to develop enormously. At that time, Philipp Stieglitz & Sohn decided to enter the passenger transport market as well, and they bought the ship from the Schrepfer family. The Olympia then served as a pleasure boat in the Rhine-Main region, organising excursions and corporate events with a licence for 240 people, before the ship was resold to Rudolf Krämer, who eventually initiated the large-scale refurbishment in Eibelstadt.
This large-scale conversion took place in 1960 at the Johann Hupp shipyard in Eibelstadt. During the conversion, the ship was lengthened, widened and fitted with two 180-horsepower engines. It then operated as a ship of the Miltenberger Personenschifffahrt (MPS) company, founded by Rudolf Krämer in 1962, in Miltenberg. MPS operated scheduled services, panoramic tours and charter services, and this was the company’s most popular excursion boat.
After the introduction of the free Saturday — the five-day, 40-hour working week — tourism experienced a significant boom. The company worked closely with the shipping companies of the surrounding rivers (mainly the Neckar). Their boats, including the Olympia, operated in the regional tourism market under the well-known brand name Weiße Flotte Heidelberg. According to a document published in 1974, the Olympia was the second largest ship in the fleet with a capacity of 450 people. Its spacious open deck and enclosed passenger area with panoramic windows were specifically designed for enjoying the scenery and taking excellent photographs.
In 1988, the Olympia once again changed hands and was given a new name. After being renamed, she operated from Saarburg under the name "Stadt Saarburg", run by the Frankenfeld shipping company. From 1996, she was operated as a rural excursion boat by "SPS Saar-Personenschiffahrt GmbH & Co. KG", travelling the Saar, the Moselle, the Rhine and the Main.
In 2015, it became the property of Theodor Dohr, who renamed it after his mother in a solemn ceremony, giving it its current name, "Queen Wilma". In addition to excursions, it provided a venue for numerous parties and discos in the waters around the beautiful Saarlouis.
The ship left its former home in December 2025 and embarked on an almost 1,600 nautical mile journey that lasted nearly three weeks to let the newest gem of Budapest’s unique panorama shine on the Danube. Its current owners, Tibor Czini and Béla Jónás, together with their families, friends, and acquaintances, mostly renovated the vessel with their own hands. After the renovation, the ship started "working" again in June 2026. Since it is believed that renaming never brings luck, we kept its name.
According to our plans, it will primarily operate as a sightseeing boat for visitors to Budapest, but it’s also a perfect spot for hosting both small and large events. Those who choose the Queen Wilma can enjoy Budapest’s many architectural and natural treasures from the most unique spot: the open water of the Danube — the illuminated Parliament Building, the Fisherman’s Bastion, Matthias Church, Buda Castle, the Liberty Statue on Gellért Hill, the renovated Citadel, the Gellért Thermal Bath, the old Customs House, and the modern buildings of the new city district: the National Theatre, the Müpa, and Budapest’s tallest building, the MOL SkyDeck.
We hope that your time spent here will be as wonderful an experience as it was for us as owners in December 2025, when we first set foot on Hungarian soil from the deck of our ship. We wish you a pleasant, experience-filled time and carefree entertainment, and we hope to welcome you again as our guest soon!

These General Terms and Conditions ("GTC") govern the legally binding contractual relationship, rights, and obligations between the service-providing entities and any natural or legal person using the online booking engines, private vehicle transfers, or nautical sightseeing services (the "Customer" or "Passenger"). The services operate through a joint commercial cooperation:
All commercial travel programs, marketing activities, and passenger logistics coordinated by La Perla Tours Kft. are fully covered under the marine public liability insurance policy maintained by the vessel fleet management (Duna Queen Kft.). Every passenger boarding our fleet is protected by a dedicated marine passenger accident insurance policy established and maintained by Duna Queen Kft., valid for all passengers and groups mediated, booked, or managed by La Perla Tours Kft.
The fleet’s insurance is active exclusively within the physical perimeter of the vessels — starting from the ship-side edge of the boarding ramp (gangway). The docking stations, access bridges, piers, and shoreline infrastructure are leased from the municipal transport authority, BKK (Budapesti Közlekedési Központ); all activities and waiting periods on the public docks or bridges are subject strictly to BKK regulations. Neither La Perla Tours Kft. nor Duna Queen Kft. is liable for injuries, slips, trips, falls, or property damage occurring on the bridges or piers before crossing the gangway. Notwithstanding this, our ground staff and crew actively supervise safe embarkation and will immediately intervene, provide first-aid, and coordinate with emergency services in case of an accident near the docking perimeter.
All service rates and ticket fees displayed on the official online booking engines (including third-party sales systems integrated by La Perla Tours Kft.) are indicated in Euros (EUR) and include value-added tax (VAT) at the statutory Hungarian rate. Finalized invoices are generated and distributed electronically to the email address designated by the Customer during checkout.
Price Integrity: If a conspicuous system glitch or transmission error displays an obviously incorrect rate (e.g. a placeholder price of "€0" or "€1" deviating by 50% or more from typical market standards), the Service Provider is not obligated to fulfil the contract at the faulty rate. Customer service will contact the client to invalidate the erroneous submission and present the verified rate; the Customer may re-confirm at the correct price or cancel without penalty.
Maximum passenger capacities are legally mandated by maritime authorities and enforced by the respective Skipper: M/S Queen Wilma — 249 persons total (upper open deck limit 170); M/S Várkert — 150 persons total (upper open deck limit 60).
By boarding the vessels or initiating a private transfer, the Passenger recognizes the absolute authority of the ship’s crew and drivers, and must comply with all verbal instructions and posted safety signs.
Bring Your Own (BYO): For specific events, private cruises, or custom programs where passengers may bring their own food and beverages, the Company declines all liability regarding freshness, storage, safety, and health quality of these outside items, which are consumed strictly at the passenger’s own risk. Neither the Tour Operator nor the Fleet Operator conducts any commercial sale of food or beverages on board during BYO charters; no cash register or point-of-sale inventory is operated on site.
Authorized Merchandise: As an exception, the Tour Operator may distribute pre-ordered and pre-paid event amenities, branded souvenirs, ice packages, themed cups, or party accessories — all finalized and invoiced before boarding via the official online checkout systems or corporate event contracts. No un-invoiced cash or unregistered electronic transactions for physical goods are permitted on board, satisfying national tax compliance (NAV).
Cleaning & Damage: If a passenger causes material damage or biohazardous contamination requiring specialized sanitization, the full repair, restoration, and professional cleaning costs are billed directly to the responsible Customer. The Skipper may refuse boarding to, or evict at the nearest safe dock, any passenger who is overly disruptive, aggressive, or a safety liability.
La Perla Tours Kft. lists official, guaranteed real-time pricing strictly on its own websites and direct channel integrations (FareHarbor, Viator, and GetYourGuide). Independent third-party operators, unauthorized booking portals, or outdated brochures may advertise differing rates or legacy details; the Company assumes zero liability for discrepancies originating from non-synchronized or unauthorized third-party platforms.
In accordance with Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code, consumers are protected by statutory performance warranties. The absolute limitation window for a consumer asserting service damages is 2 years from the date of the tour. Immediate service complaints must be communicated to the crew or a La Perla Tours coordinator on site; if unresolved, a signed written record is drawn up with a duplicate handed to the passenger. Formal written grievances must be emailed to budapestharbor@gmail.com within 24 hours of the tour’s conclusion; management will respond within 30 days. Complaint records are archived securely for 5 years.
All digital frameworks, web layouts, graphic configurations, custom written copy, and imagery on the official websites are copyrighted property. Downloading, reverse-engineering, modifying, indexing, scraping, or reproducing any fraction of the content or database structures for commercial use without express written permission is strictly prohibited.
In strict compliance with international humanitarian criteria and Hungarian child welfare regulations, the provision of any service by La Perla Tours Kft. or Duna Queen Kft. must never infringe upon the rights, moral development, or safety of children. The companies maintain a policy of total intolerance toward crimes against sexual morality, exploitation, or the violation of the personal rights of any individual under the age of eighteen (18).
These GTC and all disputes are governed exclusively by the laws of Hungary, regardless of the Customer’s country of origin. The parties pledge to exhaust peaceful negotiation through customer service before escalating. For consumer disputes where amicable settlement fails, exclusive territorial jurisdiction is designated to the courts corresponding to the defendant’s permanent domicile.
These GTC entered into force on June 4, 2026 and remain valid until officially revoked or amended by the management of La Perla Tours Kft. and Duna Queen Kft. By finalizing an online ticket transaction, initiating a corporate charter invoice, or stepping onto the gangway of M/S Queen Wilma or M/S Várkert, the Customer and all associated travelers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by every section of these Terms. If any clause is declared invalid, the remaining sections remain fully intact.
